In early February 2021, movie enthusiasts and comic book lovers would finally get their first look at the brand new Spider-Man movie. The main cast of the movie, a week before the title was to be announced, dropped fake names for what their upcoming movie would be called.

Flash forward to Feb. 24, Spider-Man’s official Instagram dropped the title for the movie, as we all know now as “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” From that point forward fans of the MCU’s favorite web head have been eagerly waiting for the new movie’s release and to see what this film brings. The hype has never been bigger for any Spider-Man film or marvel film besides “Endgame”.

The hype train for the new movie didn’t end with the movie’s title being released though, fans would later find out that actors such as Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and William Dafoe would be back in the new movie to reprise their iconic villainous roles. The film’s main premise of there being a multi-verse in the MCU was finally confirmed. Every big fan of Spider-Man knows what was to come next for this movie. Fans eagerly pressed and conspired that the first Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, will be in the film along with Andrew Garfield who was the second Spider-Man.

All of these theories boosted the internet and all fans of the different spider-men to come together. Everyone who loves Maguire’s version and people who love Garfield’s would eagerly wait to find out whether or not they would make an appearance. The biggest kept secret for the marketing of “No Way Home,” is Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Man being in the movie.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” had a trailer reveal on Nov. 16 in Sherman Oaks, Calif. This event was big, as many people waited to see if they could attend this trailer drop. Not only were fans in attendance, but other media influencers as well. Tom Holland, the MCU’s current Spider-Man was there to talk about the trailer. This event was bigger than any trailer drop for any marvel movie to date.

The world was flipped on its head when this trailer had dropped to the public. The biggest things fans took notice of in the trailer, was seeing Molina’s Doctor Octopus in action along with Foxx’s Electro who has a new design and Dafoe’s Green Goblin. Seeing these three villains alongside Sandman who was in “Spider-Man 3” and The Lizard who was in “The Amazing Spider-Man” had confirmed fans will see all three Spider-Men come together.

Even if there hasn’t been official confirmation from Kevin Fiege, the president of Marvel Studios, everyone already assumes that this will be the biggest multiverse movie to drop in theatres. The movie’s level of anticipation rivals the MCU’s biggest movie “Avengers Endgame” that was released in 2019.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” will be good for various reasons but many think it’s due to all generations of fans that admire the quick quipped hero, being able to come together to enjoy the film. Fans of all the Spider-Men have been waiting for an opportunity in live-action since “Into the Spider-Verse” came out.  However, even the smallest chance that Maguire and Garfield don’t show up in the movie, all fans of Spider-Man can still enjoy the classic villains on screen.

As MCU and Spider-Man fans wait for this movie to release, their anticipation grows stronger everyday. TikTok is filled with people talking about what the movie will hold and Instagram as well. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will most likely have the biggest opening weekend for any Spider-Man film to be released, with it expected to produce close to 200 million dollars in the U.S alone. Which means if you haven’t gotten your tickets for the new movie yet, make sure to swing by a theater near you. When Dec.16 hits us, the world will finally find out what “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has to offer for us fans!
