What are you most excited about for the upcoming academic year with your newly elected positions?
Lylah Schmedel, President
“I’m extremely excited to kick off the Fall 2018 academic year! We are looking to enhance the student life and community on campus through club enrichment and athletics. We also have many long term projects to come, so be sure to keep an eye out! Shoutout to everyone who voted, if you’re interested in student government please stop by room 1643 and ask us questions! Go hawks!”
Hariel Colcol, Vice President
“For the next academic year, I am most excited for the many opportunities my cabinet and I can embark on to help promote student life. I am excited for, and am honored to work with the upcoming clubs, the food pantry project, and overall the next year’s student government.”
Kirstie Burgess, Director of Events
“I am most excited to implement programs and events that I didn’t get a chance to this year. One of the things I hope to implement is once a month, having service, like Admissions and Records and Security, out in the quad meeting students and having the students ask questions.”
Nathan Fish, Director of Legislation
“I am most excited to get involved in State Legislation and representing LPC at the state level. In addition, I will be chairing the election committee to ensure LPC is left in good hands after we leave office.”
Alejandro Buenrostro, Director of Communications
“This coming school year is one of tremendous excitement and pride as I have been given the amazing opportunity to represent the school and my fellow classmates. In cooperation to my fellow officers we will strive to assuage the common issues amongst our students, create a more conducive environment for learning and having fun, and put forth our institution in its best light. Go hawks!”
Garrett Culbertson, Student Trustee
“I’m looking forward to representing the LPC student body at the college trustee meetings. My goal is to ensure the bond measure money is being spent to most effectively improve the quality of education at Las Positas College.”
Angela Vasquez, ICC Chair
“I am super excited to work with all the clubs we have here on campus, as well as have more students be more involved. I plan to work with Director of Events to make many good events happen and make it a good year filled with excitement. Thank you for those that voted for me, I won’t let you down!”
