Men’s soccer player lands scholarships at top Christian college

God, soccer and family. Three things that keep sophomore athlete Nick Tucker’s world spinning. Tucker is a student athlete at LPC who has a passion for soccer and is also a devoted Christian who volunteers almost all his free time at his church.

Instead of spending his time partying, Tucker mentors the kids at his church by playing with them and being a positive role model for them to look up to.

On January 26, 2018, Tucker signed with William Jessup University on a soccer scholarship that will cover a huge part of his tuition.

“I chose William Jessup because of how intentional everyone was. They seemed interested in not only me as an athlete but as a student and a person as well,” said Tucker.

With William Jessup being the top Christian college in Northern California and Tucker being a Christian, it made perfect sense.

Leadership major, it’s the perfect match.

“The program aligns with my goals for not just soccer but academics as well,”said Tucker.

After Tucker finishes school, he plans to move back home to Livermore to start up a Christian sports camp ages six to 18 in hopes to “bridge the gap between competition and God,”said Tucker.
