As some areas face the grim prospect of their belongings being claimed to the ash and scorched earth left behind by the California blazes, community colleges like Las Positas have reached out in support of these neighborhoods.
After the damage caused by the various fires across the state, the need for food, clothing and other assistance for the victims has been a call to action in the LPC school community.
Locally on Oct. 17, the fire in Dublin, Calif., which is pictured on the cover, burned 118 acres of land and placed the Dublin Ranch area into a shelter-in-place for the community’s safety. The Dublin fire affected the air quality on the Las Positas campus and in the surrounding.
