The Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) for the summer of 2024 is offering paid internships starting at $26.31 per hour.
On February 14, Las Positas hosted an internship fair, showcasing a diverse array of career prospects available through these internships for the upcoming summer. The LAEP internships aim to engage LPC students, fostering a connection to the school while promoting independence during the summer break.
The program encompasses internships in various fields including business, IT, graphic design, theatre, art, and communications. Designed to be inclusive, the program welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation college students, low-income individuals, current or former foster youth, those with disabilities, and veterans.
Applications for internships with the Port of Oakland will remain open until March 1, 2024. The Port of Oakland offers internship opportunities across departments such as Community Relations, Engineering, Environmental Programs & Planning, Governmental Affairs, Human Resources, Information Technology, Maritime, and Social Responsibility, among others.
Additionally, the FBI 2025 Honors Internship program invites students from multiple majors with a GPA of at least 3.0 to apply. Full-time student status and citizenship are mandatory requirements. This ten-week paid internship is designed to help participants explore various career paths for their future endeavors.
LPC students can access more information by logging into their zonemail accounts and navigating to the “jobs” section, where they can filter for “internships.”
