Ahmed Mohammed, a 14-year old Muslim student was allegedly detained on Sept. 14 after he brought a homemade clock that a teacher mistook for a bomb to his Macarthur high school of Irving, Texas. He is now receiving an plethora of support from Silicon Valley, including an invitation to visit Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook.

He is a student interested in robotics who wanted to show-off the accomplishment to his teachers.

“Having the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest. The future belongs to people like Ahmed,” Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook Post . “Ahmed, if you ever want to come by Facebook, I’d love to meet you.”

Zuckerberg is not the only public figure to have taken notice, but even the President has taken notice.

After an officer reportedly took one look at Ahmed, he said, “Yup, that’s who I thought it was.”

Racial profiling is still prevalent in our society. Yes, in 2015.

Moving forward, Ahmed is looking for a new school to attend and is booking flights for Washington D.C.

The 14-year-old to the Washington Post he has two inventions that will make a big difference and one that may change the world.
