“Women’s International Month to me means basically, celebrating women, especially my mom, who is a cancer survivor. She’s had stage four colon cancer, and she Luckily, there’s a 65%, 64% survival rate. But this month, I celebrate her the much that I can, because when she got it, it definitely made me wake up to reality and how you know your loved ones, regardless of women or men or whatever you may believe, can be gone within an instant. So within this month, I want to celebrate her.”

“I think International Women’s Month means empowerment. That’s the first thing that I think of when I think of this month. I feel like this month is about is about empowering women and giving us like the opportunities that we were denied before and celebrating the hard work and all the triumphs that generations of women have worked for to get to where we are now, and continuing to push that drive for more equal opportunities for women and young girls around the world.”

“I would say that International Women’s Month means acknowledging the kind of unsung heroes of society. Because women are everything. They’re one of the few people in the world that their presence is absolutely fundamentally necessary, and still they’re kind of like under the thumb of other people, kind of ignored, and having even a month out of the year to acknowledge everything that women do for the world. And all the accomplishments that we owed to them and everything, all the comforts of the world that we owed to them is really important.”

“I’m Russian, and in Russia we really honor the eighth of March, which is International Women’s Day, and it’s like really important for our culture. And for generations, we’ve been celebrating it. And yeah, so like the entire month of March is, for me, especially the eighth of March, when we just honor our mothers, sisters, friends we know, teachers, and it’s like a festival kind of, and yeah that’s what this month means to me.

“For me, the month is about just remembering and honoring all of the contributions that women have brought to the world, but more importantly to my life. So it’s really thinking about all the women in the world who have contributed to the society that I’m a part of that I’m really grateful and honored to be a part of, and it’s a bummer to see that their contributions are often not seen or valued or honored, and it’s nice to give them the amplification that they deserve, I guess.”
