To many people, 9/11 truthers disrespect the deceased by finding conspiracies where they don’t exist, but this is not their goal. They are not trying to deny anything that occurred, or deny some well known facts like some conspiracy theorists do (the earth is round, not flat, and we DID land on the moon!), but rather, are interested in connecting the dots to find a reason behind the terrible tragedies that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001.
This year, the 9/11 Truth Film Festival of 2016 discusses some different points through documentaries such as Incontrovertible, the film 9/11: Decade of Deception, and The Demolition of Truth: Psychologists Examine 9/11.
There were also some key speakers at the event which took place in the Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland, between 1 P.M. and 10 P.M. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016.
While not everyone is interested in this event, there are those who are, and have some points they would like to be brought up to the rest of us.
With Carol Brouillet, an active participant for the 9/11 Truth Movement and former coordinator of this event, the point to be made is that “What we have discovered over the course of 15 years is that the corporate media has been very resistant to conveying the basic A-B-C information about 9/11.” Of course, there’s always another perspective, and Brouillet agreed, saying “This is one of the reasons that we put on the film festival every year, to just raise awareness of the basic facts and the problem with the official story.”
According to one of the speakers, Peter Phillips, Ph.D, “over the years, many discrepancies have emerged to contradict the government’s version in the 9/11 Commission Report.” Phillips continued further, going on to say he believes there is evidence of controlled demolition responsible for the collapse of the towers.
Outside the film festival, other 9/11 Truth followers have their own ideas.
When asked about what happened on 9/11, former LPC student Sarosh Jafri, said that there’s a lot that went wrong on Sept. 11, and too much of it occurred for it to be purely coincidence.
Jafri started thinking about this when a pilot in his family brought up “if you are flying to JFK or LaGuardia, if you are even off by like a quarter of a centimeter, air traffic control will come on and you have literally 2 minutes to take corrective action and respond otherwise you’re going to have jets scrambling to take you down here, yet on 9/11 none of that happened and we have no record of it.”
There were a lot of things that happened on that fateful day, and not all of it is easily explained. While there have been explanations given, some seem hard to believe.
Jafri agreed with this, saying “I would much rather know the truth than just believe whatever it is that I’m being fed.”
In the end, searching for answers is what most of us who were affected by these horrific events have tried to do. The 9/11 truth movement is just another, very different, step to take.
