As back-to-school season quickly rolls in, Las Positas’ Theater Department hunts for its star performers to participate in their fall production, “The Book of Will,” written by Lauren Gunderson.
According to director Titian Lish, the play aims to shed new light on the infamous William Shakespeare. With elements such as love and loss, the story documents the process of the creation of “The First Folio,” the first printed culmination of plays written by Shakespeare.
Aside from focusing on the legacy Shakespeare left behind, the play has its moments of comedy as two friends work together to preserve their mentor’s words.
The production team is searching for lively and historic performances to fulfill 25 on-stage roles. For a full list of the character breakdown, visit the Theater Department page on the LPC website.
To audition, record a video of a 90 second memorized contemporary language monologue. Along with an audition tape, one should submit a resume and a headshot if possible. All submission materials should be placed in a digital folder such as Google Drive or Dropbox.
