Las Positas College President has agreed to take the same position at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, Calif.
Walthers, who took the position at LPC in 2011, announced his decision via an e-mail sent to the entire campus community.
“I am sure many of you have heard the rumor about Allan Hancock College,” Walthers wrote in the e-mail. “This week the Board of Trustees at Allan Hancock College extended an offer to me to be their next Superintendent/President. It’s a great honor and an exciting move – Santa Maria is our family’s favorite place to visit and we couldn’t be happier to be part of the community.”
Allan Hopkins College is a community college located in Santa Maria near Santa Barbara. 11,500 students attend the college each semester and famous alumni of the school include John Madden, Robin Williams and Kathy Bates.
