With life during COVID-19 being as hectic as it is, it can be easy to forget or overlook some of the important milestones & normalities in one’s life. This includes graduation.
Although COVID times are still raging and we are not quite back to a completely normal stage, it is important to celebrate the important moments and accomplishments we have looked forward to in life.
Graduation ceremonies still may not be completely the same as they once were, but that will soon return. For the time being, Las Positas College has put effort and care into planning a virtual graduation ceremony for their students.
Since there was no graduation ceremony last year the class of 2020 is also invited to participate in the virtual graduation.
The Las Positas Graduation Ceremony will take place May 28th, at 6:30 pm. It will include guest speakers, a message from the Class of 2021 Valedictorian, and a slideshow of graduating students.
Students will be able to submit a quote alongside a picture of their choice wearing a cap and gown or any nice clothing they deem appropriate for the ceremony. This year cap and gowns were provided free of charge to those who are graduating.
This event can be celebrated with any number of family or friends. It may not be in person, but small family gatherings during this day can still take place in homes or outside in order to help students best feel they are getting their full graduation experience.
Las Positas has taken a further step in trying to up the graduation experience for students and has hired a company, Envision Pro AV, which coordinates and runs virtual events like this. This means that students will be getting the best possible quality of their ceremony.
It is easy to forget how important milestones like these are, but it is best to appreciate the little moments and milestones in life and not overlook them, but to celebrate them for what they are.
