Las Positas College has announced the arrival of Fresh & Natural, a new lunch vendor. This partnership brings additional food options to the campus. Students, faculty and staff can view the menu and purchase the new food items from the grill area of the cafeteria.
The latest vendor offers a range of cuisines, including gourmet sandwiches, salads, açaí bowls, pasta and plant-based lasagnas.
Fresh & Natural officially replaced Pacific Dining as the college’s vendor on Aug. 12. Students in the dining area during Welcome Back Week said that the food quality is significantly better than the food served last year, which they claim was repetitive and lacking in variety.
Student Ariana Finley said, “There are more options available this year, and the food tastes better and is very, very affordable, especially with the portion sizes offered.”
Another student expressed that she especially appreciated the new vendor including more vegan and vegetarian options this year.
Fresh & Natural offers a variety of options, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, providing menu items for students with specific dietary needs.
One of the two general managers of Fresh & Natural, Minjee Kang, said, “Our main goal is to diversify our options for students and staff, like providing a salad bar.”
According to Kang, the salad bar will be added once they hire more staff. Also according to her, the bar was highly requested by staff members. She did not provide an exact date on when the salad bar will open but is hoping it will be in the near future.
The vendor will also offer a catering service for campus events and meetings.
The arrival of Fresh & Natural marks a new era for dining at Las Positas College. With its focus on quality, sustainability, and affordability, the new vendor is already a hit with the campus community.
