On Oct. 31 around 9:15 p.m. the Las Positas campus was set upon by police. Campus Safety and Security officers saw people in the parking lot with “guns” though a security camera feed.

The campus security officers immediately called the Livermore Police Department (LPD) who pulled every officer in Livermore for a tactical response to campus. LPD approached the group in a full tactical approach. The group, comprised of four students and one non-student, complied with police orders and the matter was settled peacefully. After a search, it turned out that the gun was realistic looking replica of an AK-47. After being detained the group was cited and released.

Criminal charges will be filed with the District Attorney, pending the results of a criminal investigation.  Vice President of Student Services, Diana Rodriguez, will be in charge of deciding if any disciplinary action will be taken against the students.
