A local company, LAM Research, has given a $5000 grant to the Las Positas College Foundation to help students with child care needs and to help address food insecurity.
Half the money was used to help students with children at the Las Positas College Child Development Center. The other half is being used this school year to help students facing food insecurity.
LPC Vice President of Student Services William Garcia said, “Students may include CalWORKs students, former or current foster youth and students who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.”
As the LPC cafeteria is closed, grocery gift cards were purchased using the grant funds for the students.
