The Las Positas swim team hosted the annual Hawk Invite at the LPC aquatic center March 31 through April 1. 14 schools from the central valley and bay area attended and competed in the weekend’s competition.
Matt Lee dominated the Hawks invite winning 50-yard backstroke 24.02, 100-yard individual medley (IM) 53.05, 100-yard butterfly 51.77, 100-yard backstroke 53.54 and helping the team take first in the 200-yard medley relay 1:36.29 and 400-yard medley relay 3:32.76.
During the event Lee set a meet record in the 100-yard IM, along with 24.03 and team records in both the 100-yard IM and 50-yard backstroke.
Paris Sinclair took 1st place in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle with 2:00.31 and 5:19.14 times respectively.
Amaya Batiza ranked 1st in the state with her time of 18:24.91 in the 1650-yard freestyle event.
Valentina Barbalinardo also took first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 235.60 and second place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 212.30.
Also setting team records during the invite were Mackenzie Bammer with a 32.97 in the 50-yard breaststroke and Calbe Wagner with a time of 2.72 in the 50-yard breaststroke.
