On Thursday afternoon FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers held a press conference and released photos of two individuals that are wanted for questioning. DesLauriers did not release names, but only referred to the individuals as “suspect one” and suspect two.”
“Since Monday’s bombing, the FBI and our law enforcement partners have been working around the clock and are fully committed to investigating this matter to bring those responsible our collective law enforcement team has pursued thousands of leads and tips,” said Deslauriers. “Within the last day or so through that careful process, we initially developed a single person of interest. Indeed, through that process, the FBI developed a second suspect. Today we are enlisting the public’s help to identify the two suspects. After very detailed analysis of photo, video and other evidence, we are releasing photos of these two suspects. They are identified as suspect one and suspect 2. They appear to be associated.”
DesLauriers said the FBI believes “suspect two,” in the white cap placed the explosives, and then proceeded West on Boylston street. He continued to emphasize that the suspects should be considered “armed and dangerous.”
“We know the public will play a critical role in identifying and locating these individuals,” said DesLauriers. “Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbors, co-workers, or family members of the suspects. Though it may be difficult, the nation is counting on those with information to come forward and provide it to us. No bit of information, no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential is too small for us to see.”
The attack happened just a week after members of Las Positas College student government were returning from a leadership conference held in Boston. The FBI is asking for the help of anybody, to locate the suspects in the pictures.
“The only photos that should be of officially relied upon,” said DesLauriers. “No one should approach them. We consider them to be armed and extremely dangerous.”
