Sophomore runner Abraham Espinoza’s run of success has carried into the post-season.
The team was in Salinas this past Wednesday for the Coast Conference Championships at Hartnell College.
The Hawks placed second overall as a team. However, the story of the day was Espinoza’s four-mile run time of 20:26.70. The time was good enough for first overall at the meet.
LPC runners Adam White and Juan Morales also helped carry the day for the Hawks as they also finished in the top 10.
“We were neck and with Hartnell,” Head Coach Steve Navarro said. “Abe’s performance was huge for us.”
Hartnell College ended placing first overall as a team, but the Hawks’ second place finish has put them in a good position for the Nor Cal Championships which take place in Folsom on Saturday, November 9.
