According to the newly released agenda for the Board of Trustees of the Chabot Las Positas Community College District meeting on Nov. 12, the district is set to hire Dr. Dyrell Foster as the new President of Las Positas College. Foster is currently the Vice President of Student Services at Moreno Valley College in Moreno Valley, Calif.
According to the board packet for the meeting, Foster will assume the job on February 10, 2020 on a three-year contract for a $215,000 annual salary.
Foster was one the candidates to speak during the campus presidential forum held on Sept. 25.
“My role would be to ensure that I’m sharing the story of this college,” Foster said during the forum. “There’s a lot of great things happening at Las Positas and I believe and I’m assuming that there’s an opportunity to share that story more within the community. I would certainly want to take on that responsibility.”
According to the Las Positas College website, Foster “previously served as an administrator at Rio Hondo College, Mt. San Antonio College, Evergreen Valley College, and San Jose State University. Dr. Foster earned a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California; a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach; and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Behavioral Science from University of California, Davis.”
